Is it true that McCain was a part of the ';Saving and Loan Scandal';?

I'm no political expert, but didn't that cost the American taxpayers billions during the Reagan administration?

A co-worker mentioned this to me.Is it true that McCain was a part of the ';Saving and Loan Scandal';?
McCain was investigated as part of the scandal. This investigation cleared him of wrongdoing and it was suspected that the only reason McCain was included in the investigation was to make it a bipartisan scandal since all of the others were Democrats.

Even though McCain was officially cleared of wrongdoing - this was a defining moment in McCain's political career. McCain felt that he had used poor judgement and that the system of 'soft money' had created an atmosphere that encouraged corruption.

After this McCain became a strong champion of campaign finance reform. This resulted in the bipartisan McCain-Fiengold bill that severely limited 'soft money' political contributions.

Bill Clinton and Hillary both should be behind bars for there part in savings and loan fraud! They where the key players but only there partners where given sentences. Bill Clinton had a Judge that he instated over turn his impeachment and Felony conviction for lying to a Grand Jury. Obama should be facing jail time for his past dealings also (Judicial Watch web site ) %26lt;%26lt; if you want the facts!!!! So to answer your question you clearly are NOT a expert on politics. But pretty good at spin!
No, a congressional hearing cleared McCain of any wrong doing or involvement.
I dont know about that, but everyone who bought a house they couldnt afford or didnt read the interest info. is..............
